ED lodges a charge in court against Arvind Kejriwal for non-compliance with summons.
New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a new charge against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a Delhi court, demanding his prosecution for persistently failing to appear in the Delhi excise policy probe, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Arvind Kejriwal declined to appear before the agency.
The new complaint comes after Arvind Kejriwal declined to appear before the agency on Monday for the ninth time since November 2 last year, calling the summons “illegal” and “politically motivated”.

The laws under which the new charge against Arvind Kejriwal has been lodged concern noncompliance with a summons given to an individual. The ACMM court has scheduled the hearing for Thursday.
A similar complaint was made by the financial crimes investigation agency on February 3. At that time, the court took cognizance of the case and called Arvind Kejriwal. He appeared virtually before the court on February 17, and was spared from physical attendance until March 16.
