Mirzapur Season 3: A Spectacular Return to Raw Power and RevengeMasterpiece of Suspense and Drama

Review of Mirzapur Season 3:

The third season of Mirzapur has returned after a four-year break, starring Ali Fazal and Pankaj Tripathi in their respective roles of Guddu and Kaleen. The cards have been rearranged this time, with gore and blood taking center stage. Apart from a few moments of redemption, Mirzapur Season 3 is all fizz and no rizz. It might be characterized as a bloody revenge story that offers both visceral thrills and subtly beautiful moments. Was the wait worthwhile, though?

The show has several plot holes, an overabundance of primary characters, and cliched moments. It charms at the same time with great performances and a captivating first part.

Mirzapur Season 3:

Mirzapur is attributed with bringing gore, bloodshed, and violence to the Indian over-the-top entertainment market. And it’s undoubtedly going to get even better in the third season.

Fundamentally, Mirzapur tells the story of violence in the Hindi heartland that straddles the political and legal spheres in India. It’s a snapshot of betrayals, strained relationships, drugs, sex, and power struggles.

I don’t think it’s feasible for us to watch television without prejudice. We were in the midst of a pandemic on a worldwide scale in 2020 when the second season of Mirzapur debuted. The typical OTT user has a long viewing duration. By 2024, we will have entered a post-inflationary recession and many of us will be burnt out. It seems impossible to dedicate ten lengthy hours to a TV show in such a situation.

You may find it difficult to recall who people betrayed whom, how their allegiance changed, and who died in the first few episodes of Mirzapur Season 3. The first two episodes may try your patience just for that reason.

Plot of Mirzapur Season 3:

Mirzapur Season 3:

Munna Tripathi’s (Divyendu) burial opens Mirzapur Season 3. As she administers his final rites, his wifeโ€”a former widowโ€”becomes a widow once more. Madhuri Yadav, portrayed by a sincere Isha Talwar, dances around halls of power while wearing a white saree. She takes use of her husband’s passing to strengthen her party’s base and undermine the opposition.

In the meantime, tall Ali Fazal’s character Guddu Pandit attempts to talk his father Ramakant Pandit out of giving himself over to the police. In the previous season, Ramakanth had shot a policeman to protect his son from a confrontation. He willingly surrenders to the authorities, and in spite of Guddu’s persistent entreaties, he won’t leave their care.

Vasudha Pandit is Sheeba Chaddha. She refuses to ask for help for her son, whom she mockingly refers to as “Purvanchal ka Baahubali,” and instead sticks steadfastly by her husband’s side. Guddu’s sister Dimpy (Harshita Shekhar Gaur) may have had the most fulfilling character arcs following Sharad Shukla (Anjum Sharma).

Dimpy makes the decision to follow her father’s moral guidance. Like her parents, she doesn’t think highly of Guddu, her brother. In the meantime, Shweta Tripathi’s character Golu, short for Gajgamini Gupta, occupies the Tripathi estate. Currently, Golu and Beena (Rasika Dugal) are bhabis. Even though Babu Ji is no longer with us, his National Geographic-style commentary on the current condition of events is still very much in evidence, albeit a little overwhelming.

As Guddu, Golu, and Beena share a roof, rifts start to show amongst them. A seductive affair develops between Golu and Guddu. Together, they work out in the gym, lifting large weights. In another scene, Sharad Sharma is keeping Pankaj Tripathi’s character Kaleen bhaiya in a hidden place.

Guddu is adamantly refusing to give in to Golu’s constant urging to adopt a more diplomatic stance and build a positive rapport with Baahubalis of the UP. His obsession with power drives him crazy.

Mirzapur Season 3:

Lala ji (Anil George), following the events of the previous season, is currently in police detention. Golu and Guddu attempt to gain access to his network through Shabhnam, his daughter (Shernavaz Jijina). Shatrughan Tyagi is portrayed by Vijay Varma. When his father found out about his affair with Golu in the previous season, he killed his brother. Tyagi experiences a kind of identity crisis, unable to decide if he is Bharat or Shatrughan.

He leads two separate lives: that of Saloni’s (Neha Sargam) spouse and that of a bereaved Romeo, who desires to kill Golu in order to exact revenge for his brother’s passing.

In the meantime, Zarina (Anangsha Biswas) is enlisted by JP Yadav (Pramod Pathak), the disgraced politician who was falsely accused of participating in a sex racket in the previous season, in an attempt to topple Madhuri Yadav’s government. A few new characters are also included: a man with sniper shooting expertise who refers to Mirzapur as “Mexico” and an offensive, stereotypically gay character who serves as Yadav’s masseuse.

Writing in Mirzapur Season 3:

This season’s initial few episodes may try your patience. Since the show has been off the air for four years, the writing is a little wobbly and the pacing is slow, but I believe this was intentional (viewers could just need more time to recollect all characters).
Beena, who was raised in an abusive Tripathi home, is searching for a secure place to be free from sexual exploitation.

Beena discovers this place of safety with Guddu and Golu, but she ultimately has to ask Madhuri for assistance. This season, as a romantic relationship develops between Shweta and Guddu, her masochistic pleasure narrative is virtually abandoned.

Mirzapur Season 3: What Works and What Doesn’t

Mirzapur Season 3:

To begin with, I was perplexed by the needless bloodshed this season. Kill and Mirzapur, two of the bloodiest TV series and movies ever made, are coming out this week. In the former, the protagonist uses violence to exact revenge, but in the latter, violence is used just for its own purpose.

It seems unnecessary to have gruesome images of guts, leaking blood, and chopped heads. Furthermore, the swear words are a forced fit. The showrunners appear to be making an effort to appeal to the 2018 OTT audience, who take pleasure in seeing people swear on TV.

Since Mirzapur’s debut, as I mentioned at the opening of this review, a lot has happened in the globe. While its modern incarnation, Sacred Games (2018), concluded in 2019 with great fanfare, Mirzapur remains an overlong, overdone series that encounters several obstacles in the shape of less interesting episodes.

I won’t give away any surprises, but the season ends with a lackluster conclusion. When does Mirzapur Season 3 become a multi-million dollar online series with multiple seasons produced in large quantities solely to appease its devoted audience, rather than remaining a novelty?

As the struggle over Mirzapur’s gaddi intensifies over the course of ten episodes, we witness characters flip allegiances and then flip them again. The show’s dark horse is Anjum Sharma as Sharad. He is charismatic, articulate, and skilled at winning people over, although Guddu undermines himself with

his hunger for blood.
Fans of Kaleen Bhaiya, take note: Pankaj Tripathi’s screen time is somewhat limited this time.

Impressive is Mirzapur Season 3. However, the critic is concerned about the outcome. How many more characters must be added before the program runs out of steam? Season three has ten episodes, thus saturation occurs really quickly.

Perhaps you could just take a vacation from the gang members from Juanpur and Purvanchal. The Mirzapur Season 3 is the perfect program to watch if you’re ready for a somewhat arduous but generally entertaining weekend binge.
